Good day!

Today was a great day. I was the kind of mom I wish I was every day. I mulit-tasked and got lots of stuff done and even was a fun and semi-patient mom.

This morning, Kannon was kinda fussy so I held him and watched some HGTV. Then when I got up to do my work I just put him in the Snuggli. He took a little snooze and I got my stuff done. I was able to tackle a few organizing projects that I have been wanting to do.

Mason and Addi got out of school early. (Tennessee is so weird. They start school in the middle of August but then give the kids a bunch of 1/2 days of school. Whatever!) And we went to Chuck E Cheese. I need the mom of the year award for that. :) Actually it was really nice. We have a good system down-I only give each of them 1 token at a time so then they have to keep coming back to me. That way I know where they are. I just sat at our table, ate my lunch and even looked at a magazine while I held Kannon. Mason and Addi had a blast, Kannon was happily held and I had a pretty mello few hours. We ran to Target afterwards for a few last minute Halloween items-flashlights, spiderwebs, etc. I did lose my patience a little bit in there, but there were no tears-from me or the kids-so I count that as a win!

When we got home, I washed the car while Addi and Kannon napped for a bit and Mason went over to our neighbors house to play. When we went in, I made dinner, while playing catch with Mason and helping Addi with an art project. Then Mason did his homework, we ate, took baths and then I read the kids a book. All while being in good spirits and joking around with my kids. I love days like this!

And now because I can't post without pics here is one of Mason tap dancing, which he learned from watching Happy Feet, Addi looking super cute and little Kannon holding up his sweet little head.

life with 3 kids

Last week was a crazy week. Chris went out of town on a business trip. It was ROUGH!!! Kannon was super fussy and Mason and Addi chose that time to be defiant little stinkers. I'm soooo glad that Chris is home now. I didn't sleep worth a crap when he was gone. He used to travel a ton, but hasn't for a few years and I'm used to him being home. I feel much more safe and secure when he's home. It so nice to have his support and be able to chat and share my day with him.

Kannon is 6 weeks old tomorrow. It's very cliche but I don't know where the time has gone. I can barely remember when he wasn't a part of our family. He still doesn't sleep very well. But oh well, I'll sleep when my kids are grown. He is going through a fussy stage and that is a little hard to handle. I tell him that if he would just tell me what he wants, I'll give it to him!! :) He is a very noisy baby! He snorts, makes funny sucking noises with his paci, nurses very loudly and has a set of lungs on him when he's upset. The best part is that he is super LOUD when he dirties his diaper. Today in Relief Society I was sitting up front holding him and he did his business...super loudly. It was a little embarrassing but pretty darn funny too! He is a very loved baby. His siblings are his biggest fans!

Addi is so stinkin' funny (when she's not being lil' miss sassy pants...OK sometimes that's funny too.) She is so dramatic. She sings and dances and flits around all over the house. One of my favorite things she does is hides in the dinning room curtains and asks us to announce "the Princess show" then she comes out and does a little song and dance routine. Chris and I joke that its our date...dinner and a show!

Mason is sooooo smart, he just blows us away. He has learned how to read and tonight he read an entire book all by himself. He had a soccer game yesterday and scored a goal. Go Mason! He has a really hard time staying focused on the game and being aggresive going after the ball. He would much rather just sit and chat with his team and the other team. I think he has a crush on his cute teacher at school. Last week he bought her a ghost gram-it's just a little fundraiser at school where the kids can pay a quarter to give a friend a treat. And tonight he asked if we had ever heard of the Colts football team because that's Mrs. Thomas' favorite team. So cute!

This is going to be a crazy week, but so fun too! We have a field trip to the pumpkin patch, dance, soccer practice, game and end of season party, trunk or treating at the church, visiting/home teaching, Halloween, and on Sunday is Kannon's blessing and I am teaching in Relief Society. Whew!

Tagged

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.

B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

I have been tagged by Joanna

Six Facts/Habits about myself

1. I (like Joanna) cannot relax unless my house is clean and my laundry is caught up. I am crazy about this. It makes Chris nuts!

2. I have to always have my toenails painted. Even in the dead of winter when it's freezing and I wear socks every day.

3. I am afraid of the dark.

4. I always have 5-6 projects in my head. For example: right now I'm thinking about enrichment night, planning how we're going to fix our backyard, what I'm going to do for Christmas cards this year, new furniture I want for my bedroom, pictures I want to take of my kids in their Halloween costumes and some of baby Kannon, and the lesson I am giving in Relief Society in November. I get bored if I don't have a zillion things to think about.

5. I love to play Tetris.

6. I am a candy-a-holic! Bring on Halloween!

I am tagging Feather(must have lost the link to your blog), Tara, Angie, Alisha R. (even though you 2 don't have blogs, you're the only ones I know who read this blog besides my friends that already have been tagged.)

And to close here is a pic of 5 week old Kannon I took today.

Kannon

Here are some new pictures of our little guy!
The one in the polka dot jammies is from when he was 4 weeks, being burped by daddy. The lion one is at month, which he just turned on the 17.

He is such a fun and delightful baby. Life is sooooo good!!

One Month

Kannon is going to be a one month old tomorrow. I can't believe it. The past month has totally been a blur. We haven't gotten into much of a routine yet, things have been too busy. But we're plugging away every day. We all just love him and smooch on him every chance we get. He is a sweet baby who loves to be held. He is nursing like a champ and getting some chub on him. He has a hard time napping when Mason and Addi are home and isn't sleeping very much at night either. But we're surviving. He is a wonderful addition to our family and we all feel so blessed that he is here!

OK, I tried to post some pictures, but it won't work. So I'll post pics when it gets fixed.

We're Alive

It's fall break here in Rutherford County, which means my kids have been out of school ALL WEEK!! Let's just say it's been a little bit challenging. Kannon and I had a good routine last week...napping, eating, etc. Well, that just doesn't work with 2 other kids at home. Don't get me wrong, it's been nice hanging out with my babies, relaxing, not having to run and rush all over, but it's also been hard entertaining the big kids while feeding and attending to the little one.
Anyway...we are doing ok. Kannon is such a good baby. He has been a tiny bit fussy with a tummy ache from the half a bag of M&M's I ate. But he is as sweet as can be. None of us can resist smooching on him, every time we walk by. I am very content to just hold him and stare at his sweet little face. And of course I love on him all day long. When I kiss him and he wants to eat, he will latch on my chin or lips and start sucking like a maniac. It cracks me up every time.
Mason and Addi absolutely LOVE their little brother. Each of them "helped" me today by hauling baby Kannon from where he was napping in the living room to where I was in the kitchen and up stairs putting laundry away. I darn near had a heart attack. It's a good thing baby's are so resiliant.
